I just want you to appreciate the amount and variety of vegetables I ate at tea tonight. MInd you, everything is grown in the garden:
Cauliflower (with cheese)
Broccoli (lemon flavored)
Green beans
Pumpkin (my favorite)
Mashed potatoes (SO good!)
These next ones were in the salad:
Lettuce
Cucumber
Corn
Tomato
Raddish
Green pepper
That makes a grand total of 11! When was the last time you had that many ifferent veggies in the same week? Mags is CRAZY and she treats us well :) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE VEGETABLE?
(p.s. I know at least 4 immediate family members who are reading this post, and not planning on leaving a comment. I just want you to know that I need external motivation (i.e. comments!) to continue my habit of blogging... Come on guys!)

Four! What? I think Mom leaves a comment almost every time, and Belle and I leave one almost every time too. That only leaves two immediate family members. . .
Sorry if I haven't been giving you enough feedback Stef, your blog is truly a connection to another world, and I love being a part of it.
A few weeks back, I had lunch at a Japanese lady's house and she said a good Japanese week's worth of groceries includes a MINIMUM of 30 veggies. I don't think I could name 30 different veggies right now. Good for you for eating homegrown!
I know exactly how you feel, Stefanie about feedback motivating you to post more as Heather and Noelle were the only ones for a while, but when I see the other 5 blogs from NZ, you have LOTs more comments than most of them do! I don't know aout BBT, but poor Dad is really doing all he can do!
Anyway, the most I've ever eaten is three hot vegetables and maybe three in a salad! I think my favorite is green beans although I do love broccoli! Vegetables are SO expensive or I would buy more. I could live as a vegetarian if someone cooked for me! I do love them but principally only fresh. Tomatoes and carrots are at the top of the list too and I'm very envious of all your homegrown opportunities- You know, the Beeg likes vegetables for breakfast. Her favorite is possibly zucchini-we'll have to wait and see! Thanks for posting again so soon! I almost didn't look because I didn't anticipate your getting internet again so soon. BTW, what is the status of your physical fitness with all the biking and extracurricular athletics you're participating in?
I am really growing to love asparagus!! I had fresh grown green beans for dinner which were quite tasty too. I think the most I ever had was about seven or eight at a meal with Heidi Mecham who is allergic to lactose and gluten. That would be hard!
I hope you're still having fun--I would love to hear more updates on what you're DOING seeing as you're having quite the adventures.
There's nothing like hand shucked corn on the cob that was picked earlier that day. SO GOOD! Especially with massive amounts of butter, salt and pepper.
Who me? This is Dad - reading in the background and writing on Mom's log in - your are right I should comment again and more often on all y'alls blogs. So here you go Stef - Atta Girl!! - Eat those veggies - 11 in one tea reminds me of the book "7 in one blow" about the young man who swatted all those flies and became famous.
So my favorite is asparagas, fresh cut, slender stalks, steamed with butter and lemon on top. I just finished a contract for Del Monte Friday at 7p for them to buy potatoes in Wisconsin. Next I do the one for green beans in Minnesota. Who knew my life would be so interwined with vegetables.
Thanks for the effort to share your adventures with us. They are great!!! Love, Dad
P.S. Heather - I think Stef is counting Rick and Phil as immediate family members. So do I. We will let your kids off the hook until they can spell.
Keep it up all of you. It is terrific to read all your creative posts.
I like corn
How could I possibly forget about fresh shucked corn on the cob? I guess because I only get it once every few years! Now THAT"S my favorite vegetable!
I really enjoy all vegetables pretty much. Some, of course, more than others. I can't even think of one that I don't like.
However, as a child, it was a different story. I think green peas was the only vegetable my Mom could get me to eat. Things do change don't they.
